The only journey is the one within. – Rainer Maria Rilke

My Approach

My approach is warm, relational, non-pathologizing and always confidential. The process itself is psychodynamic and educational. I provide somatically integrated psychodynamic psychotherapy for individuals, couples, parents, and emerging adults. My approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of individual or a relationship from Mindful, Depth and Attachment Theory orientations. Depth Psychology was established in 1931 Zurich by psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler who was a mentor to Carl Jung. The field of Depth Psychology is interdisciplinary and eclectic and draws on literature, philosophy, mythology & the arts. My work is for people who are wanting to explore outside of more clinical modalities and challenge themselves to a life of greater profundity, connection, and creative wisdom. There is ever increasing evidence for the efficacy of this approach, as studies show that depth psychology has a longer lasting and more profound impact than cognitive or behavioral psychologies alone. Additionally, my background includes Mindful Meditation, Somatic and Trauma Informed Trainings, Modern Psychoanalysis, Object Relations, and Attachment Theory. Through this well-rounded approach we will explore the patterns and coping strategies that may have influenced, supported or limited your life thus far. As our modern lives are rife with stress, anxiety, unexpected change, and often tremendous loss, together our work is to recognize your deep inner wisdom and support your unique perspective while building your resiliency and self-confidence.

Recognizing Your Strengths

In 2004 I began my training to become a Licensed Psychotherapist because I am passionate about helping people uncover the best version of themselves. Life is complex and every one of us will eventually encounter hardships that require us to look inward. Thus, the heart of my Private Practice is helping people access their personal depth and resilience so that they can live a more creative, connected and meaningful life. This process requires a commitment to self-reflection, a commitment to this relational process, and a radical accountability that is easily avoided in today's world of self-soothing distractions. While discomfort is often unavoidable in growth, this process creates the space for a more innovative and engaged sense of self to emerge.

Cultivating Your Creativity

When we are struggling, triggered, or overwhelmed by our own lives, oftentimes our access to our more intuitive and creative functions will suffer and become diminished. This is often the point when artists, creatives, writers, musicians begin to feel frustrated or even experience "feeling blocked" for extended periods of time. Through a Depth approach we can begin to unburden those heavily laden parts of ourselves to better access our creative flow. By exploring our unconscious through dynamic exploratory dialoguing, we can identify and address how our complexes may keeping us from accessing our richer and more illuminated perspective. As Carl Jung said, "Your perception will become clear only when you can look into your soul."
